Faculty Overview
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (EE) was formed and developed in association with the history of more than 120 years of the University. In December 2005, the faculty officially offered undergraduate training. Currently, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Hanoi University of Industry has a team of lecturers with high knowledge and a system of modern laboratories.
Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering are able to work in a dynamic and creative environment with professional, disciplined and modern teaching, learning methods. That is the reason why the number of students choosing Electrical Engineering is constantly increasing every year.
Training programs:
- Graduate program: Electrical Engineering
- Undergraduate programs: Electrical Engineering Technology; Control and Automation Engineering Technology and Thermal Engineering Technology.
- Short-term training and technology transfer
Graduates can work for factories, enterprises, domestic and foreign companies directly or indirectly related to the field of training. In particular, learners are able to start a business; provide solutions in the areas of technology training, become managers, technical specialists working for state agencies, foreign companies, or lecturers at training institutions or research institutes.
1. Achievements
1.1. In the field of training and technology transfer
- Long-term training: Up to now, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering has supplied to the labor market thousands of engineers, bachelors and workers with high knowledge and skills. Many alumni are currently holding key positions in terms of engineering and technical management in domestic and foreign enterprises such as: Toyota, Toho, Panasonic, Canon, Nissan, Nokia, Samsung, Foxconn, etc.
- Short-term training and technology transfer: This is also an important task in the development orientation of the Faculty. Recently, the Faculty has implemented short-term training courses, retraining and transferring technology to thousands of learners in many provinces across the country with hundreds of large companies such as Siemens Vietnam, Cocacola Vietnam, Mitsubishi, Thuong Dinh shoes, Hanoi Mechanical Company, etc.
According to survey data, most of the faculty graduates have jobs right after graduation. In particular, some students of the faculty are recruited and granted scholarships from the 3rd and 4th years of their studies by many big companies such as Samsung, Nissan, Denso, etc.
1.2. In the field of scientific research
In addition to teaching, learning and technology transfer activities, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering also actively participate in scientific research, implementing topics and projects at all levels with the following achievements:
- Scientific Research: Successfully carry out over 30 scientific research topics at all levels, including 06 ministerial-level projects or equivalent; publish hundreds of scientific articles in prestigious national and international journals.
- Compile nearly 30 textbooks and teaching and reference materials for major publishers such as Vietnam Education Publishing House, Science & Technics Publishing House;
- Students' scientific research is also paid special attention. Every year, the faculty organizes some workshops to guide students to carry out dozens of scientific research projects which help students associate theory with reality. In recent years, Faculty's students have participated in student science research competitions with 31 accepted projects. In addition, the students also won many high prizes in the annual robot contests organized by Vietnam Television; Olympic competitions, skill competitions at all levels.
2. Development Orientation
In order to meet the increasingly strict requirements of high-quality human resources for the development of the country, the Faculty will continue to implement a number of key objectives as follows:
- Comprehensively renewing university training programs and teaching methods towards the practical approach to production based on international standards (CDIO, ABET);
- Continue to foster and improve the qualifications of lecturers in the Faculty, increase the percentage of highly skilled and qualified lecturers by sending lecturers to participate in some short-term courses at domestic and foreign institutions;
- Open more master's and doctorate programs in Control Engineering Technology and Automation, Refrigeration Engineering Technology. Provide more short-term training courses and technology transfer for Enterprises;
- Have good relationships with businesses to support internship programs and find job opportunities for students;
- Expanding relationships with training institutions, domestic and foreign research institutes to exchange and learning experiences to improve the quality of training and scientific research, to meet the need of society in the period of international integration.
