Workshop on collecting opinions of lecturers on the objectives of the Electrical Engineering Technology training program approaching ABET criteria

On August 27th, 2021, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering collaborated with experts to organize a Workshop to collect opinions from lecturers on editing and updating the objectives of the undergraduate training program in Electrical Engineering Technology to meet ABET criteria.

This is one of the activities to implement the Project "Improving the quality of training to meet ABET accreditation standards for undergraduate training programs in the field of Computing and Technical Technology, Hanoi University of Industry” approved by the Rector on December 31st, 2020. Accordingly, the five most traditional training programs of the university are expected to be evaluated by ABET by the end of 2023 or early 2024, one of which is Electrical Engineering Technology.

The event was organized online with the participation of experts, faculty leaders, Heads of Divisions and more than 60 lecturers. The workshop agenda consists of 4 main parts:

1. Plans to improve the quality of training programs in the key industry to meet ABET standards

2. Requirements of training objectives

3. Lecturers’ opinions on training objectives and outcome standards

4. Discussion

The workshop was taken place successfully. The survey results and opinions of more than 60 lecturers will be one of the most important information channels in editing and updating training objectives and outcome standards of the training program in order to meet the need of the society and ABET standards of Electrical Engineering Technology training program.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan - Vice Dean - Leader of ABET working group presented 3 main contents in the Plan to improve the quality of training programs in Electrical Engineering Technology

ABET expert presented an overview of the training program development and review process, especially the training objectives and outcome standards of the training program.
